Srinagar Municipal Corporation Commemorates 77th Republic Day with Solemn Flag Unfurling Ceremony

Srinagar, January 26, 2026:
The Srinagar Municipal Corporation today commemorated the 77th Republic Day of India with solemnity and patriotic fervour at its Central Office, Karan Nagar. The highlight of the observance was a dignified flag unfurling ceremony, symbolising the nation’s unity, democratic values, and abiding faith in the Constitution of India.

The National Flag was unfurled by the Commissioner, Mr.Faz Lul Haseeb, IAS, in the presence of senior officers and officials of the Corporation. The ceremony reflected deep reverence for the constitutional ideals and democratic ethos that form the bedrock of the Indian Republic.

Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner underscored the historic significance of Republic Day and reaffirmed the Corporation’s unwavering commitment to transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance. He emphasised the pivotal role of urban local bodies in nation-building, particularly in translating constitutional principles into effective public service delivery at the grassroots level.

The unfurling of the Tricolour served as a poignant reminder of collective responsibility towards inclusive development, civic discipline, and sustainable urban growth. It also reinforced the resolve of the Corporation to work with renewed dedication for the holistic development of Srinagar.

On the occasion, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation reiterated its pledge to uphold excellence in urban governance and to continue striving towards a cleaner, resilient, and progressive city, in true spirit of the Constitution of India.
