Manipal Tigers registered their second win in Legends League Cricket 2024.

Jammu : Banking on an all round performance by both the bowlers and batters, Manipal Tigers registered their second win in Legends League Cricket 2024 by defeating Gujarat Greats by 5 wickets at the Molana Azad Stadium in Jammu on September 5 (Saturday).

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Morne van Wyk and skipper Shikhar Dhawan opened the innings for Gujarat Greats. While Shikhar Dhawan managed to add just 8 from 8 balls, van Wyk made 1 from 5 balls. Chris Gayle scored 14 from 5 balls. Mohammad Kaif made 34 from 40 balls. Yashpal Singh scored 14 from 15 balls. Towards the end, Debabrata Das remained unbeaten on 14 from 12 balls and Seekkuge Prasanna made 20 from 9 balls. The innings ended with Gujarat Greats getting all out after posting a total of 131 on the board in 19.4 overs.

For Manipal Tigers, Praveen Gupta took 2/27 in 4 overs. Obus Pienaar, Asela Gunaratne, Rahul Shukla, Imran Khan and Thisara Perera took one wicket each in the innings.

Chasing a target of 132 on the board, Phil Mustard and Manoj Tiwary opened the innings for Manipal Tigers. The duo added 24 runs for the first wicket before Phil Mustard was dismissed for 18 from 8 balls. Manoj Tiwary made 29 from 27 balls. Obus Pienaar scored 21 and 13 balls. Angelo Perera scored 15 from 16 balls. Asela Gunaratne and Thisara Perera added 51 runs for the 6th wicket and helped their team win the match. While Gunaratne remained unbeaten on 13* from 14 balls, Perera also remained not out on 38* from 22 balls. Manipal Tigers Chased down the target in 17 overs.

For Gujarat Greats, Manan Sharma took 3/36 in 4 overs. Seekkuge Prasanna picked 2/23 in 3 overs in the innings.
