125 Centers Funtional in District for Adhar Enrollment Saturation.

Baramulla, January 12: To finalise the action plan for saturation of Aadhar cards and mandatory biometric updates in all age groups, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish today chaired a District Level Adhar Monitoring Committee at her office chamber here.

The officers of Education Department, Health, Social Welfare besides representatives of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) were present in the meeting.

On the occasion, Dr Sehrish Asgar held a threadbare deliberation about a mechanism to be adopted for Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children in the district.During the meeting, Project Manager, UIDAI J&K UT Shoib Khan informed that Adhar Enrollment process stands at 90% covering ten lakh population besides briefed about the status of Aadhar Seva Kendras operating in the district.

It was given out that district administration Baramulla has intensified adhar enrolling and updation process for which 125 centers are functional across the district. It was also deliberated that Tehsil Offices, Blocks, Educational institutions, delivery locations at hospitals are identified for Adhar Enrollment saturation.

The DC was also briefed on the initiatives being undertaken to cover the age groups of 0-5 years, 5-18 years and above 18 years in the district.Terming the Aadhaar enrolment a multi-agency process, the DC called upon all concerned departments to saturate the remaining Adhar Enrollment Process in the district besides launching mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover all population under Aadhar enrolment.

Dr Sehrish on the occasion said that Aadhar has a tremendous potential and scope in curbing cyber frauds. She urged the uncovered populace to get Aadhar enrolled as it is mandatory to avail benefits of various government schemes.
