Hon’ble Mayor SMC reviews arrangements for Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).
Srinagar September 30, 2022: Mr Junaid Azim Mattu, the Hon’ble Mayor of Srinagar today paid a visit to the Dargah Hazratbal in order to finalize the arrangements for celebration of forthcoming Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) on October 8th 2022. Hon’ble Mayor was accompanied by Joint Commissioner (Adm) SMC ,Joint Commissioner Works SMC, Ex.Engineers from PHE, PDD and SMC, Dysp Zakura, Dysp Traffic. While taking holistic stock of the preparations made for the revered religious celebrations, Mr.Mattu took a comprehensive tour of the vicinity in and around the Hazratbal shrine. Addressing officials from various departments, Mr. Mattu passed on many on spot directions for smooth conduct of celebrations. Enjoining upon the officials to put all the arrangements in place for the ongoing sacred days in general and Eid-e-Milad-un- Nabi in particular at Hazratbal shrine, Mr. Mattu asked the officials to ensure the full proof facilitation of the celebrations, so that the devotees do not face any kind of difficulty while paying obeisance at the shrine.
Mr.Mattu along with other officials also discussed the roadmap for upgrading facilities during these sacred days at all major shrines and religious places in the city. On the occasion, many decisions regarding the actions to be taken for the smooth facilitation of event were also taken.As thousands of devotees throng Hazratbal shrine during these days and on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), The Hon’ble Mayor further directed that the SMC officials should double up the working shifts in order to ensure cent percent sanitation in and around the premises of Hazratbal shrine.
While directing the PDD, Hon’ble Mayor asked the officials that in order to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the occasion, Gen sets should be put in place at all locations as a backup in case any eventuality arises. He also directed the SMC electrical wing to install and repair the street lights in and around Hazratbal shrine and other religious places in order to ensure the smooth observance of the day.
While talking about the importance of the day in Islam, He directed the health authorities to depute teams of doctors, paramedics, free medicine and ambulances to Dargah and other eminent religious places in the city so that the devotees get timely medical aid in case any need arises.
