Fiction Writers’ Guild conducted a workshop in collaboration with Kashmir Harvard and SRM Welkin Sopore
Jammu and Kashmir Fiction Writers’ Guild is not only a platform for established fiction Writers, but a heaven for budding fiction writers. It has been our aim to reach to students in particular to explore their writing capabilities. Keeping in view a two day workshop was conducted at SRM Welkin Sopore in collaboration with Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute Naseem Bagh.
The turning point of the work was that our trainers Mr. Mohi ud din Reshi , Mushtaque B Barq and Dr. Rafia Wali were able to infuse a verve of creativity among the young writers. More than 40 students from the above mentioned schools took active part in the workshop and could generate quality short stories.
The Guild is keen to help students to fine tune their creative capabilities before carrying their works in their regular sessions.
A group of student from SRM Welkin and Kashmir Harvard mesmerized everyone in the workshop by presenting their short stories in two versions. Ms. Daniya Noor’s English short story ‘Parenting’ was translated on the spot into Kashmiri by Mir Hadia.
Fiction Writers’ Guild is looking ahead to carry on this journey to other parts of the Valley to encourage young writers . We are thankful to both the schools for their cooperation and hospitality.
