Mayor reviews arrangements for upcoming Eid -Ul -Adha.
For upcoming Eid -Ul -Adha, Mayor Srinagar Mr Junaid Azim Mattu took a detailed review of arrangements to be put in place by SMC.
Mayor while reviewing various measures passed on several directions to be followed rigorously on the eve of Eid ul Adha.
Besides directing officials to maintain upgraded sanitation in all the ward of Srinagar city ,especially in and arround all the religious places, including Dargah Hazratbal, Peer Dastageer Sahib, Makhdoom Sahib Shrine and other religious places.
He also said that the citizens of the Srinagar City should be able to utilise the dedicated services of SMC for collection of Animal hides easily and promptly that will be provided by SMC so that people do not throw Animal hides/skin in public places or mix with Municipal waste.
He also passed on directions to the concerned to inspect the functionality of all the streetlights and enusre they are all in a working mode .
The street lights that needs repairing should be immediately attended to said Mayor.
Regarding Dog management , Mayor passed on directions to depute a team of Dog catching squad which shall be available round the clock for management of stray dogs particularly near religious places.
A greater focus needs to be given in all religious places including shrines and mosques on account of sanitation, functionality of all the street lights, continuous water supply , rigorous Anti encroachment drives, Anti polythene drives, continous services of dog catching squad for management of dogs so that people offering prayers on the occasion shall not face any problem said Mayor Srinagar.
Directions have also been passed to the staff of the SMC to carry out market checking, decongest roadsides for easy movement of vehicles and pedestrians on the occasion.
For smooth flow of traffic, Mayor instructed that a regular Anti Encraochment drives in different zones of the city particularly in busy markets including Lal Chowk, Jahangir Chowk, Batamaloo, Hazratbal, Dalgate, Soura, Sanat Nagar shall be conducted on daily basis and also stressed for hassle free pedestrians movement in the city.
