Commissioner Secretary RDD Inaugurates Shahpayeen Park At Chotipora Shopian

Shopian CNS 4th June: Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development
Department (RDD), Smt. Mandeep Kaur today inaugurated Shahpayeen Park at Chotipora Shopian in presence of DDC Chairperson, Bilqees Jan, Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya and Director Rural Development Department, Imam- Ud-Din.
Shahpayeen was the Royal Stay in Shopian and one of the six wazarat headquarters of Mughal period.This was the first place where Mughals were staying while traveling from Poonch to Shopian. The name Shahpayeen was given by Mughal Rulers for Shopian.

The public park has been developed by the RDD Department with an expenditure of Rs.14 lakhs on which the work was started in 2021-22.
The park has various features like, Grill Fencing, good earth filling, tile path/walkway, high mast lights, illumination system, dust bins and a variety of flowers.

While addressing the public, Commissioner Secretary said that aim of the Government is to focus on providing all the facilities to the individuals at their door steps, specially to senior citizens and childrens.She also appreciated the Rural Development Department for good works done in the district so far and emphasised for providing better performance in the developmental scenario to facilitate the common masses.

Commissioner Secretary also planted some Divdar plants in the said park and issued directions for planting trees for the shade on the boundaries of park.

Commissioner Secretary said that government is keen to provide each and every facility for the well-being of the people.

Meanwhile, She also interacted with the DDCs,
PRIs and listened to their demands. They raised various concerns of public importance.

Commissioner Secretary assured the local representatives and the public that all their genuine demands will be considered and action shall be taken on each of them in a time bound manner. Commissioner Secretary directed the officers to maintain quality of work and emphasized on the overall beautification of all the parks in the area.

Sarpanch and other Prominent citizens of the village thanked Commissioner Secretary and District Administration for dedication of this park to public.

ADDC, Shopian, Manzoor Hussain, DDC Members, ACD, Shopian, Hilal Ahmed Jeri, ACP Shopian , DFO, Shopian and other officers and officials of Rural Development and Forest Department were also present.
