3 day cleanliness drive started in khankah e Mohalla

Srinagar, CNS, 28-June: A 3 day intensive deep cleanliness drive started at Astan Sharief Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) at Khankah e Moulla Srinagar ahead of Urs-e-Shah-e-Hamdan (RA),

Mayor Srinagar Juniad Azim Mattu personally initiated the drive .He was accompanied by Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Arif Raja ,Exen (Mech) , Ward Officer and concerned field staff.

This is the most intensive cleaning of the revered shrine in recent memory. SMC Sanitation teams also joined effort said Mayor Srinagar.

Mattu who personally participated in the cleanliness drive said that Every square foot of the revered shrine is being cleaned — both outside and inside Khanqah-e-Moula now by teams of youth volunteers and SMC Sanitation.

While greeting people he said We look forward to have people/ devotees here for the Urs-e-Mubarak.

Meanwhile, Parvaiz Ahmad Qadri Deputy Mayor Srinagar along with Salam Ali Sagar and other Councillors of SMC reviewed the arrangements in connection with commencement annual Urs of Hazrat Ameer-e-Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA). at Khan Qahe Mohhalla.

He was accompanied by Joint Commissioner (S), SMC ,Executive Engineer (Electricity Division IV) Khanyar , Executive Engineer (Water Works Division) Srinagar , Assistant Executive Engineer (RRWD)SMC, Assistant Executive Engineer (Electric), SMC, Municipal Veterinary Officer, SMC, Chief Anti Encroachment Officer, SMC, Municipal Sanitation Officer, SMC, Compost Officer and other Officers of the Corporation .

Representatives/ care takers of Shrine while expressing gratitude to the Deputy Mayor, Srinagar for his visit apprised him about grievances of sanitation in & around the shrine,

They also requested for Installation/repairing of street light in & around the shrine, installation of Mobile Toilet van outside the shrine during the Urs days and removal of encroachment outside shrine for hassle free traffic movement.
The Deputy Mayor gave on spot directions to concerned Officers to take appropriate necessary action with respect to the issues pertaining to each of them.(CNS)
