SMC commissioner tours city, visits Hazratbal Dargah .
Directs for improvised sanitation on Eid.
Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) continued with its extensive sanitation drive in the city to ensure up-to-mark sanitation and cleanliness on the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
SMC commissioner Mr Athar Amir Khan toured various of the city ahead of the festival and took stock of the arrangements made on the ground. He visited v Hazratbal shrine where he directed the SMC staff to press all men and machinery into service. On his directions, several fumigators, hoppers and garbage lifters are working round the clock.
He was accompanied by all senior Municipal Officers including Director Tourism , S.E Drainage, Chief Engineer Smart City Ltd , Executive Engineer left river works, Executive Engineer Right River work, Executive Engineer Mechanical division, Executive Engineer Electric division, Chief Sanitation Officer, Chief Enforcement Officer,Chief Anti Encroachment Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Ward Officers and other officials
Mr Athar at Hazratbal Dargah passed on directions to launch upgraded Sanitation and at various other shrines and religious places including Peer Dastagear Sahib, Jamia Masjid, Shaahi Hamdaan ,Naksh band sahib, Hazrat bal, Wousi sahib ahead of Eid-ul-fitr
He said that all the machinery including hopper vehicles, sweeping machines and other machinery shall be pressed into service and these places shall be thoroughly cleaned up with lime powder, fumigation and other disinfectants and other arrangements to be looked into for the upcoming festival .
Commissioner SMC on the occassion also took review of functionality of street lights and passed on directions to repair all the defunct street lights if pending any, so that they are all made functional for the convenience of public during the worship hours.
A Special team of Dog catching squad was directed to be deputed at Hazratbal Dargah for completely curbing dog menace to avoid any sort of inconvenience to the people thronging to the place on the occassion.
Strict directions were passed to concerned that not a single stray dog should be seen arround in the Hazlzratbal premises.
