Awareness and sensitization programme on intergenerational bonding on schools held at Ganderbal.

Ganderbal 10 March, CNS : National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, in collaboration with Anugraha Regional Resource and Training Centre on Aeging , conducted one day Awareness and Sensitization Programme on intergenerational bonding on schools at Hyderia Model High School Tulmulla Ganderbal Jammu & Kashmir.

The programme was organised under the patronage of Ministry of Social justice and empowerment, Govt. of India in collaboration with Anugraha Regional Resource and Training Centre on Aeging.

“The main objective of this programme was to provide an awareness among students and aware them about their duties,intergenerational bonding, active care and their role towards elderly people . Different laws relating to elders mainly Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens, Act 2007 were also discussed.

Bilal Ah. Bhat (Social Activist) hosted the programme and also explained about role of children in active and healthy ageing.

Advocate Bisma Khan delivered a lecture on legal aspect and explained different laws for senior citizens including MWPSC Act, 2007.

Dr. Chintanjeet Kour (P.T) Disability and Child Rights Activist & Administrative Officer Chotay Taray Foundationactive ) emphasized on the importance of intergenerational bonding, ageing with dignity.

Among other guests, Mr. Mohammad Amin Rather Sahib (Chairman, Hyderia Model High School Tulmulla Ganderbal Jammu & Kashmir), Mr. Javid Ahmad Bhat Sahib (Principal, Hyderia Model High School Tulmulla Ganderbal Jammu & Kashmir), Mr. Mubashir Murtaza( Field Response officer National Helpline for Senior Citizens), Staff members of Hyderia Model High School Tulmulla Ganderbal Jammu & Kashmir were also present in the programme who focussed on other factors and held an interactive session with the students there.

An essay writing competition was also held on the topics Intergenerational bonding, Ageing with dignity, Active and Healthy Ageing. Cash prizes were distributed among first three winners. Besides this Momentos and Certificates were also distributed on the event among Speakers and participants by the School administration.(CNS)
