Defunct Digital X-Ray in SDH Yaripora
Kulgam,CNS,16-Feb;The patients in Sub district hospital Yaripora area of Kulgam district are suffering due to the defunct digital X-Ray.
Hundreds of patients can be seen waiting outside the X-Ray room but after day-long wait most of them return without the X-ray film as the hospital lacks printer meant for digital X-ray.
Locals blamed hospital authorities of carelessness and held them responsible for the unavailability of most needed facility.
Residents and patients said despite several pleas the health department has not installed the printer for X-Ray machine, causing trouble to hundreds of patients who must either go to expensive private clinics or travel long distances for getting an X-Ray done.
One local resident Rafiq Ahmad said that in absence of printer in the hospital patients are being left dependent on private diagnostic centres.
The patients especially critical patients are facing lots of problems due to lack of the facility inside the hospital,” said Mohammad Umer who was attending an emergency patient.
“Most of the patients who come to hospital are poor and need facilities free, but it is irony that whosoever comes here has to pay double as they first come here and later are forced to go to private clinics for digital X-ray. The administration is causing more problems instead of giving them some relief,” a group of attendants said.
Meanwhile, CMO Kulgam Dr Mohammad Rafiq told CNS that the Digital X-Ray machine has been installed by private company “Krsnaa diagnostic ltd” and they will be directed to repair the machine on priority basis.
Residents appealed District Commissioner Kulgam to look into the matter on priority basis. (CNS)
