Kalidas Theatre celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Tagore Hall.
Welcoming the guests President Kalidas Theatre Dr. Ayash Arif ensured that these occasions will cater to the needs of young generation who are keen to promote art and cuture. On this occasion Three Novels of Dr. Sohan Kaul were released. Prof. Bashur Bashir, Prof. Shad Ramzan, Rukhsana Jabeen and Dr. Farooq Fayaz deliberated upon the novels. Mushtaque Barq read a paper on Psychiatric Ward, a novel by Dr. Sohan Kaul.
Later on participants of two eminent schools Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute and IPTS Heights School participated and presented cultural programmes. The performers mesmerized the audience.
Later on life time achievement awards were presented to Bashir Dada (Late Sajood Salani Award), Yaqoob Dilkash,Prana Shangloo, Dr. Sohan Kaul (Late Ali Mohammad Lone), Tariq Javeed, Umer Imtiyaz,Farooq Sheikh, Shahida Parray, Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad, Ab. Majid Wani, Mushtaq Bala, Hassan Javid and Mushtaque Barq, Javid Ahmed Khan. The awards that were presented to above mentioned are: Ali Mohammad Lone Memorial Award, Sajood Sailani Memorial Award, Dr. Aziz Hajni Memorial Award, Farooq Afaq Memorial Award and Shadi Kaul Memorial Award.
The President of Kalidas Theatre ensured that this will be a trend to encourage the artists both budding and veterans annually. The Artists, Writers, Singers, Actors, Composers, Folk actors in future shall be considered for the next annual award ceremony.

Various eminent singers of the Valley like Wahid Jeelani, Gulzar Ahmad Ganie, Shazia Hamid and Aijaz Rah presented their songs and enchanted the audience with their melodious voices.
The Chairman Kalidas Theatre Mr. Shabir Mujahid in his vote of thanks appreciated the role played by Kalidas Theatre in bringing young and veterans on the stage.
