Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE) conducts cybercrime awareness-cum-interaction workshop at Model Govt Degree College, Charar e Sharief, Budgam.
A cyber crime awareness programme was organised at Model Degree college,charar e Sharif, Budgam today on 21. 04. 2026.
During the workshop, DySP Ashiq Hussain Malik, SHO PS, CICE, Srinagar delivered the inaugural speech. A detailed and insightful talk on cybercrime awareness, focusing on types of cyber enabled frauds like online investment frauds,digital arrest,phishing,social media frauds,hacking,modus operandi adapted by the Cyber fraudsters,detection, prevention and the broader implications of online threats was delivered by Sh. Ramnish Gupta, JKPS, SSP Cybercrime Investigation Centre for Excellence .The participants were also made aware regarding use of 1930 (helpline number) , National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal ( NCRP) and website www.cybercrime.gov.in for registering complaint.He also highlighted the importance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat initiative, emphasizing the need to combat drug abuse alongside cybercrime.
The workshop was also attended by Principal Model Govt Degree College, Charari Sharief and faculty members. Besides Dy SP Arif Ahmad, Dy SP Nasir Kirmani and Inspector Arshid Mustafa from CICE Sringar also attended he insightful workshop.
The primary objective of engaging with the college students was to ensure dissemination of awareness at grassroot level thereby helping curb the growing menace of cybercrime and drug abuse.
Principal Dr. Pervaz Ahmad appreciated and hailed the proactive role of the police in safeguarding the lives and interests of the general public in general and students in particular. The event was attended by around 200 participants
