Hina Shafi Bhat visit Sukhnag Sozni Embroidery Cluster Rudbugh Budgam

Srinagar 8 Feb, CNS: Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Hon’ble Vice Chairperson J&K KVIB accompanied by Secretary/CEO J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), visited Common Facility Centre of the Sukhnag Sozni Embroidery Cluster Rudbugh Budgam. Senior officers of the Board, officers from local administration, Technical Agency (CDI Srinagar), artisans and SPV members were also present during her visit.

According to CNS J&K KVIB is establishing the cluster with the project cost of Rs. 4.45 crores, with an objective to enhance the productivity and competitiveness as well as capacity building of Sozni artisans in the cluster catchment area. Further, establishment of the said cluster shall enhance the product mix, improve product design, colour combination etc. so as to make products customer savvy and attractive. Facilities like dyeing, calendaring, washing, packaging etc. shall be provided to artisans under one roof.

Marketing support is also being provided to the artisans by way of sponsoring them for participation in National & International exhibitions/ trade fairs, virtual trade fairs and buyer seller meets etc; besides online e-commerce portal is also being designed and developed.

Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Hon’ble Vice Chairperson J&K KVIB asked the artisans and stakeholders to take full benefit of the facilities that shall be provided at the Common Facility Centre. She felt the need for training of the artisans and one training programme for the benefit of the artisans was also approved by her. She assured that the Common Facility Centre of the cluster shall be inaugurated very soon and thousands of local artisans shall be benefitted.(CNS)
