Thieves on prowl in Zakura
Srinagar,CNS,21-Jan: Residents of Hamchi Zakura area here have expressed concern over theft incidents in the locality and urged police to take measures for restoring sense of security.
Reports reaching CNS said that in the intervening night of Thursday —Friday, the burglars struck a Shrine of Mir Syed Hussain Bahdur Simnani(r.a) at Hamchi and a local Masjid where they broke the open donation boxes and decamped with cash.
The aggrieved residents said the thieves earlier this week struck in the three residential houses and decamped with good worth lakhs of rupees.
“The theft seems to be handiwork of some gang. We have lodged complaint with the concerned police station. We make a fervent appeal to SSP Srinagar to look into the matter and nab the accused at the earliest to restore sense of security in the area,” locals said.
Meanwhile, SHO Zakura,Syed Junaid told CNS that a formal case in this regard under FIR no 9 has been registered and further investigations have been set into motion. (CNS)
