January 2:- Kashmir Mountain Biking Association today on Sunday organised Challai Kalan Half Marathon from Nageen to Rajbagh via, Hazratbal, Nishat, Brain, Nehru Park, Dalgate, Zero bridge, Rajbagh more then 60 Atheletes participated in the event from different clubs. All the athletes covered 21kms distance started from Nigeen Club at 8:35 AM which was flagged off by Mr.Tahir Mir, Junior National Athletic Coach. Later on prize distribution was held wherein Mr.Zeeshan Khan (KAS) Assistant Director Tourism Kashmir was the Cheif Guest in presence of Dr.Asif Iqbal Vakil Technical Officer Joint Director Farms SHD Kashmir as Guest of Hounor and distributed prizes among all the athletes. Shoaib Shabir was the youngest participant & Rafiq Ahmad Zargar was the Oldest participant. On this Occasion Best Coach Award was declared Mr.Mushatq Ahmad Bhat.
While speaking on the occasion Mr.Zeeshan Khan, congrats the organizers and sponsors for smooth conducting of the event and praised the association for organizing such events as large number of youth get involved with the sports and remain fit mentally as well as physically. He also thanked parents as they play an important role in supporting their children for taking part in sports activity.
Dr.Sheikh Gulam Rasool, Dr Shuja Ul Bashir, Tahir Mir, Mushatq Ahmad Bhat, Shahnawaz Baba, Dr Anwar Nagoo, Faheem Ali, Umer Rasheed, Danish Sofi were also Present on the occasion.
