Despite PAGD leaders under detention, NC PDP stages protest against Delimitation Commission recommendation
Srinagar,CNS,01-Jan; The Political leaders of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration including Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti despite being put under house arrest, National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party Saturday staged protest against proposal of Delimitation Commission.
Youth wing of National Conference including its president Salman Sagar, Shameema Firdous and other workers and leaders assembled at party headquarters Nawa-e-Subah and carried a protest march against Delimitation Commission’s proposal and August 2019 decisions.
The protesting party leaders and workers alleged that under a well planned conspiracy the voice of people of Kashmir especially PAGD leaders are being stifled. They castigated government for placing PAGD leaders under house arrest.
Similarly PDP leaders and workers including Rouf Bhat, Arif Laigaroo and others also held a protest against the proposal and the decisions taken by the Centre on August 05, 2019.
While talking to media National Conference leader Mubarak Gul said that it is very unfortunate that PAGD leaders were placed under house arrest and disallowed to carry out a peaceful protest. He said staging protest is a democratic right but government in Jammu and Kashmir doesn’t like democratic activities and muzzle the voices of the people.
“Keeping Omar Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti under House detention is improper decisions. We are against Delimitation Commission’s proposal and we condemn house arrest of PAGD leaders.
In democracy everyone has freedom of right to expression,” he added.
They said that they will never accept the proposed draft of Delimitation Commission.(CNS)
