Hyderpora Encounter; ‘Clean chit’ to killers unacceptable: Altaf Bukhari

Srinagar, CNS, 29-Dec; Former minister and Apni Party president, Syed Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday rejected the claims made by Special Investigation Team (SIT) regarding the Hyderpora encounter.

Addressing media in Srinagar, Bukhari said that the judicial probe has to be conducted in this regard and the killers will be identified.
“Who is police to give clean chit in Hyderpora incident? Party doesn’t accept the probe conducted by police,” he said.

Earlier, Bukhari led his party workers to protest against the Delimitation Commission’s draft with regard to the addition of assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir, which, however, was disrupted by authorities.
Bukhari, while leading the protest said that the Delimitation draft proposal adding six seats to Jammu division and only one to Kashmir was “unacceptable”.

“The protest is also against settling non-domiciles through backdoor and curbs on media. We aren’t against investment, but we won’t allow outsiders to settle in J&K, ” Bukhari said.

After the protest was disrupted, Bukhari said that the future course of action will be decided in a meeting today.
Pertinently, SIT in charge DIG central Kashmir Sujit Kumar Singh yesterday told reporters that Altaf Bhat was made a human shield by the foreign militant Bilal Bhai, while Dr Gull was killed by foreign militant and that Amir Magray of Ramban was also a militant who was killed in the operation.

The Hyderpora military operation took place on November 15 in which four persons—a foreign militant Bilal Bhai, a youth from Ramban Amir Magray, building owner Altaf Bhat and Dr Mudasir Gul were killed.

The bodies of Bhat and Dr Gul were exhumed after three days from Handwara graveyard and handed over to their families for burial.(CNS)
