3 Shops Gutted In Fire Incident in Larnoo Anantnag, Seminary Also Damaged

Srinagar, Nov 28 (GNS): At least three shops were gutted besides a seminary partially damaged in a massive fire which broke out on Sunday evening in Batapora village in Larnoo in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Reports reaching GNS said that the fire erupted from a readymade shop and spread to few other adjacent shops. Soon after the news spread, locals from the area launched a rescue operation to douse off raging flames. However as long as fire could be controlled, three shops, belonging to Manzoor Ahmed, Javid Ahmad and Hussain Gani, were razed to rubble besides a seminary also damaged in the incident.
Two locals also received injuries, after glass pierced in their hand(s), during the efforts to control fire.
The local inhabitants in the meantime alleged Fire and Emergency Services of arriving too late to the site, despite informed well in time.
“Once the fire broke out, we informed the department concerned, however they arrived here once the damage was done”, a local told GNS.
Another local said that a Fire and Emergency unit was approved for Larnoo two years before, but it is yet to be established. (GNS)
