Meeting of all the newly elected representatives of all DFAs/Zones of Kashmir Province was held here in Srinagar under the Chairmanship of Shri Wasim Aslam. The objective of the meeting was to discuss various programs requisite for development of football in Kashmir and identify steps for smooth functioning of all the DFAs/Zones. The delegates that attended the meeting included newly elected members (President, Secretary, Treasurer) of DFAs/Zones from Srinagar, Budgam, Sopore, Anantnag, Pattan, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Pampore, Bandipora, Baramulla, Handwara, Hajin, Kupwara, Ganderbal & Rafiabad.
The delegates later informed the media that they will all work hard to ensure that football reaches to its true potential in the UT. The representatives also thanked Shri Wasim Aslam Chairman JKFA ( Chairman Election Committee and Oversee the functioning of All DFAs/ Zones of JKUT) for his tremendous efforts for conducting the elections. In the meeting it was also unanimously decided that like other states, J&K UT also needs to constitute its Football Team A and Team B. These teams will be merit based and comprise of players selected through by all DFAs/Zones of Kashmir and Jammu. The Process of Selection will start from 05-12-2022 by DFAs / Zones of JKUT . Both the Teams will be under the banner of JKFA.
Later, Chairman JKFA Shri Wasim Aslam congratulated & thanked all the representatives and briefed them regarding the opportunities and obstacles ahead for them. He also shared his views about the ways of empowering the DFAs/Zones for the immediate revival of football in the UT. As well for the Revival of Departmental Teams like Fire & Emergency Services , Roads and buildings , Srinagar Muncipalty and other Departments Teams .
