In continuation with our endeavour, a two days fiction writing workshop was conducted by Fiction Writers’ Guild in collaboration with Baramullah Public School.
It has been our objective to polish the young writers to explore their hitherto unexplored potential. On the opening session of the first day Mr. Nasir Zameer, a reputed Urdu fiction writer presented a vivid and detailed lecture on the contemporary Urdu fiction writing. It was followed by a training session by Dr. Rafia Wali, an ace Urdu fiction writer. She discussed the intricacies of fiction writing.
Trainees were engaged in giving vent to their thoughts which they pour on their papers. Many brilliant fiction pieces were written by the trainees.
The second day of the workshop carried forward the module of short story writing in English. All the trainees were trained by Mushtaque Barq and Engr. Shafi Ahmad and later on a group discussion was framed to help the trainees in developing a group work spirit and later on all seven groups tried their best to frame a short story. At the end of the session many impressive short stories were presented by young writers. It was a wonderful experience to know the young writers and their needs.
More than 50 students from the above mentioned schools took active part in the workshop and could generate quality fiction work.
Fiction Writers’ Guild is looking ahead to carry on this journey to other parts of the Valley to encourage young writers
