Drug peddler arrested by police at Ganderbal, Huge quantity of contraband recovered
Ganderbal, CNS, 10-Feb;Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and taking stringent action against the drug peddlers, Ganderbal Police has launched massive hunt against Narcotic peddling in the District. Ganderbal Police is committed to serve the society by nipping the evil of drugs and its peddlers.
Acting upon a specific information, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar – IPS, a police party led by SHO P/S Lar Gulzar Ahmad under the supervision of DySP HQRs Ganderbal Abdul Majid-JKPS established a Naka at Repora Lar.
During checking, 01 suspicious person was found to be carrying 04 kgs & 800 gms of cannabis powder and cannabis Straw in his seperate bags.
The accused was arrested along with the contraband substance. He was identified as Ghulam Nabi Bhat @ Zadoo
Resident of Repora Lar Ganderbal.
During interrogation, it came to surface that the contraband substance was meant for sale in the general area of Ganderbal.
Upon this Case FIR No. 10/2022 , U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Lar and further investigation into matter has been taken up.
The drive against Narcotics in the district is going on and Police is committed to eradicate the menace of Drugs from the District and all efforts are being made to curb the menace of Drugs from the society.
Ganderbal Police once again appeals general public to co-operate with Police by way of sharing inputs related to Drug peddling so that culprits could be booked under relevant sections of law.(CNS)
