It has already been mentioned that Baith-ul-Meeras (Art Gallery), located in Ali Kadal, Srinagar, was established four years ago by Help Foundation to promote and nurture the Kashmiri language, traditions, culture, and heritage. Under this initiative, Baith-ul-Meeras frequently hosts programs that highlight our ancient traditions and provide the public with an awareness of both old and modern Kashmiri culture, especially focusing on the promotion of Kashmiri culture. To achieve these goals, the organization, in collaboration with Kashmir Kala Manch, started the Evening Theatre in 2023. This theatre event is held on the last Saturday of each month without interruption, continuing smoothly to this day.
On the last Saturday of this month, October 26, Kashmir Kala Manch actors performed the stage drama Zeh Qadam Kathis Taam, written by Dr. Sohan Lal Kaul and directed by Hakeem Javeed. Today’s program was unique as it was dedicated to the memory of the late Jinab Mohammad Shafi Pandit sab, the Chief Patron of Help Foundation. The event’s special guest was Mr. Farooq Mirza, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, along with other distinguished guests, including Mr. Rafiq Masoodi, Mr. Shabbir Mujahid, Mr. Saleem Baig, Mr. Kifayat Rizvi, Mr.Mr. Farooq Masoodi, Mr. Bashir Qadri, and theatre, art, and culture personalities such as Mr. Shafi Qureshi, Mr. Shakeel ul Rehman, and others.
The program began with the ceremonial turbaning of Mr. Murad Shafi Pandit, son of the late Jinab Mohammad Shafi Pandit, performed by the artists of Kashmir Kala Manch, including Mr. Abdul Majeed, Mr. Hakeem Javeed, Mr. Nazir Harbol, Mr. Jahangir Farash, Mr. Sheikh Parvez, Mr. Riaz Kachroo, Mr.Arif Butt, Mr. Fayaz Butt, Mr. N.A. Qazi, Mr. Tariq Jameel, Mr. M.Y. Shaheen, Joziya Mir, Abdul Hameed Rather, Hina Shafi, Benish Manzoor, Fayaz Sufi, Adil, and other members of Kashmir Kala Manch.
