Mayor Srinagar,Mr Junaid Azim Mattu along with Commissioner SMC Mr Athar Amir Khan, today laid foundation stone of an iconic pedestrian bridge connecting Mehjoor Nagar and Jawahar Nagar at Mahjoor Nagar Bandh.
The foundation was laid in presence of the concerned Corporator Mr Mohd Saleem Bhat and Corporator Ghulam Nabi Bhat.
He was further informed that the approved cost for the bridge is Rs 4.95 crores with a total road length of 106 meters approximately.
Mayor who was flanked by senior officers of Corporation and officials from Engineering wing on the occassion was further informed that the said project would be completed within a period of twelve months.
While intereacting with the locals of the area Mayor said this was a long-awaited and crucial community project to be delivered by SMC and we will be doing best to our abilities to take development on all fronts be it construction of pedestrian bridges , setting up of these community facilitation centres, proper roads and drainage network .
Mayor while expressing his gratitude to the people of the area especially the elderly persons present on the occassion said, the pedestrian bridge will be completed in a time bound manner.
Commissioner SMC Mr Athar also assured the people that the said pedestrian bridge will be completed within a stipulated time with the efforts of engineering wing.
