Rose Colony’ and ‘Friends Colony’ in Mehjoor Nagar Without Electricity for Last 15 Days; Locals Aghast
Srinagar, Dec 18 (GNS): ‘Rose Colony’ and ‘Friends Colony’ in Mehjoor Nagar in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district are without electricity for last fifteen days, the inhabitants claimed.
A local delegation told GNS that the 400 KV transformer installed near Mehjoor Educational Institution was replaced with two 250 KV transformers, one for each colony. The transformers’ however don’t cater to the demand of the area and have been replaced several times over a period of just fifteen days. The replacement process has been taking a serious toll on inhabitants as there has been no electricity for all these days, they said.
“We urge the authorities concerned to upgrade the transformers’ to meet out the demand”, they said adding students and commoners are suffering alike due to unavailability of electricity.
We even have brought the issue to the notice of authorities however are yet to see anything being done to redress the issue, they said.
The locals have urged Lieutenant Governor led administration to intervene into the matter for an early redressal of the grievance. (GNS)
