‘’Hybrid” militant arrested in Ganderbal, 1 grenade recovered: Police
Srinagar, CNS, 12-Nov: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a hybrid militant of LeT/ TRF outfit in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
In a statement issued by the police, it reads that a police party of Ganderbal Police had established a MVCP near Khann and observed an individual to have come suspiciously close to the MVCP. The individual was challenged who instead of complying with the signs and command, tried to flee.
The individual was overpowered and apprehended on spot. The suspicious person was later identified as Arshad Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Subhan Mir resident of Sehpora, Ganderbal, it read.
Subsequently, FIR No 211/21 U/S 13, 39 of ULA (P) ACT and 7/25 of Arms Act was registered in Police station Ganderbal and investigation set into motion. During sustained questioning individual was found as a staunch militant associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba/TRF whose name had surfaced during earlier investigations also, they said.
Pertinent to mention that during preliminary investigation the individual has also been found involved in recruitment of his own brother Lateef Ahmad Mir arrested in FIR 57/21 u/s 13, 39 ULA (P) Act & 7/25 Arms Act of police station Kheer Bhawani, they said.
‘’Other individuals motivated and facilitated for recruitment by hybrid militant Arshad Ahmad Mir are being identified and further arrests/ recoveries are expected”, Concludes the statement.(CNS)
